Yesterday, my husband and I went, for the first time, to Talacre Beach in the North of Wales.
It’s only just over an hour’s drive from Stockport so easy to drive to.
On our way to the Talacre Beach, we had a short break at Llanerch-y-Mor (North Wales) to see the Duke of Lancaster ship, I was hoping to get close to it to take some photos. Unfortunately, the site is not accessible and we could only see it from a footpath that runs next to it.
From what I have read on the web, it has been there since 1979. The owners have tried to open it as a “fun ship” but the council opposed it and it has been closed since 2004.
There is a lot of graffiti from different artists who had been commissioned to create artwork on the ship..I would love to visit the interior !

Talacre Beach – Wales
After parking the car we walked up to the beach, I must admit I really like the area.
The golden sand and the dunes leading up to the beach. We arrived at high tide so there was only a small part of the beach that was visible.
It was pretty quiet for a Sunday , with the nice weather I thought it would have been a little bit more busy. The area is popular with dog walkers as there are plenty of space for them to run ! It’s great for them to have a splash in the sea (must be cold !).

As you can see on the images I took yesterday , there are a lot of opportunities when it comes to create beautiful images. Horse owners would be able to have a photography session at that location as there is a bridleway close by and it is possible to ride on the beach.

My special equine photography project
I am currently working on creating some special images or horses on the beach with riders and models hence the reason why I visited Talacre Beach. I still need to find out where my models could park as I could not see spaces for horse boxes. I am going to see the closest area to the beach where they could park as it will not be possible if the car park is miles away.
Worst case scenario, it will have to be at Formby beach as I know their main car park also allow horse boxes.
